Abstract	Στην παρούσα διατριβή αναπτύχθηκε ένα Σύστημα Υποστήριξης Αποφάσεων (DSS, Decision Support System) διαχείρισης παράκτιων περιοχών, υπό την επίδραση της λεκάνης απορροής. Το σύστημα εφαρμόστηκε στην περιοχή του κόλπου Γέρας της νήσου Λέσβου. Περιλαμβάνει αρχικά ένα Μαθηματικό Μοντέλο Προσομοίωσης, για τον υπολογισμό της απορροής των θρεπτικών ουσιών που εκχύνονται στον κόλπο από τη λεκάνη απορροής, το οποίο μπορεί να εφαρμοστεί για διαφορετικά σενάρια διαχείρισης. Στην συνέχεια, η αξιολόγηση των σεναρίων γίνεται με εφαρμογή Πολυκριτηριακής Ανάλυσης, με στόχο την επιλογή του βέλτιστου αυτών. Η μελέτη έγινε στα πλαίσια του Θεοφράστειου Προγράμματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών ‘Περιβαλλοντική και Οικολογική Μηχανική’, με έναυσμα τη συμμετοχή του κόλπου Γέρας στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα DITTY (Ανάπτυξη Εργαλείων πληροφορικής για τη Διαχείριση λιμνοθαλασσών της Νότιας Ευρώπης, υπό την επίδραση των Λεκανών Απορροής).
