Abstract	Tactile maps constitute an important means for the education, information and, most importantly, mobility guidance for blind persons and people with significant visual impairment. The introduction of new technologies, mainly in the last ten years, has contributed to the design and production of tactile maps, following procedures appropriate to the special needs of tactile mapping, with automatic cartography. The basic stage in the implementation of automatic tactile maps is the construction of the digital tactile map. During this phase it is essential that the names are written in Braille. In this article, the implementation of a true type font that can be used for the writing of names as well as the automatic conversion of names from Greek language to Greek Braille is introduced.
