Abstract This paper is dealing the methodology and the planning of coastal protection’s works for the confrontation of erosion in the coastal area. As example (case study), is presented the planning of protection of coastal area in the settlement of Kordias in the Prefecture Messinia. Kordias, is found in the western limit of Municipality Kalamata, in the Prefecture Messinia. The erosion at the coastal area near the settlement, began afterwards the construction of the retaining wall in order to protect the coastal road of the settlement. With the byway of years, were removed the sediment of beach and the wall were undermined completely, with result the first coastal residences presents damage and the situation to be dramatically dangerous. In order to protect the coastal zone, was selected the planning of coastal work, which would have double aim, on one side the protection under the wave’ s action, and the inversion of erosive mechanism. By the total of provisions of work, that was studied, was selected the most optimal so much technically, what functional provision. The most optimal provision, proposed the construction of two parallel to the coast breakwaters with length 90m each. The first breakwater was placed in distance 100m from the coast and second in distance 110m roughly. The coast corresponded completely to expected. The coastal development is watched (monitoring), in various time intervals up to today confirming the results of planning of proposed work.
